Celebrate Womanhood. Celebrate Life.

A woman is a pivotal source of love and inspiration. Mother, sister, better half or daughter, women play it all with elegance and perfection. She multitasks as if she is born with eight hands and an elephant’s memory. Indian women have always been looked down upon by the male dominated society. However, time and again the fairer sex has proved that they can not only rock the cradle, but also rule the world. We have some exemplary women in India, who have grown to be extra-ordinary in their field.

Chanda Kochhar, MD and CEO of ICICI Bank

Chanda Kochhar is a well-known name in the business today. She is the CEO of the India’s largest private sector bank. She is instrumental is shaping ICICI Bank and taking it to greater heights. Additionally, she is a member of the Prime Minister’s Council on Trade & Industry, the Board of Trade, High-Level Committee on Financing Infrastructure, US-India CEO Forum and UK-India CEO Forum. In the year 2011, she was awarded the Padma Bhushan Award by the Government of India.

Ashu Suyash, MD and CEO of CRISIL

Ashu Suyash has been the CEO of L&T Investment Management Ltd, making her the only woman to head an asset management company. Armed with a Charted Accountancy degree in the year 1998, she began her career in the mutual fund industry. Ashu is not only good with her job, but also very much a family person. She has successfully played the role of a dedicated wife and a loving mother. Ashu Suyash has been featured amongst the Top 50 Women in Business in India several times in the past 10 years.

Shahnaz Husain, CEO of Shahnaz Herbals Inc.

Shahnaz Husain has been a successful entrepreneur since three decades now. Married at the tender age of 16, Shahnaz refused to give up her dreams. She started a salon in Delhi with a humble budget of Rs 35000/- and there was no looking back. Today, the Shahnaz Husain Group has around 400 franchise clinics around the world. Shahnaz Husain was awarded the Padma Shree in 2006 from President Dr. Abdul Kalam. Also, she was awarded the 2000 Millennium Medal of Honour.

The list does not end here. There are a number of women, who have done exceptionally well, professionally and personally. They have always stood the test of time. The strength and spirit of women need to be celebrated for a lifetime, and not just for a day. They sacrifice their dreams and wishes for their family and children. A woman may be rich or poor, she does everything to provide comfort and protect her family. More power to women!
