In today’s fast-paced world, everything is changing with the rapid pace, same in the advertising world. Advertisement is something that’s everywhere – when you travel on a road, from being painted on the walls of houses to the very bus you are traveling in you’ll see advertising everywhere, also be it television, social media, ads on radio, YouTube. Anyway, have you ever wondered the very ad you are watching is the outcome of some kind of research of company. Yes, companies do very deep detail oriented research to come with a few seconds’ ad or minute for say. In addition, that research is known as Advertising research. To find out the answers of questions like, Are customers liking this ad? Is this ad worth the cost, time and energy? Is this ad really creating some kind of impact on the buying behaviour of customers? Does it create a positive brand image? So, to put it in proper words Advertising research is the process of analysing, testing, and evaluating ads to understand their impact and effectiveness. It helps brands or company to know what message is working best for them, which audience is next target, and how we can improve the ads to increase the impact.
Why is Advertising Research important?
It helps understand the audience, customers because good ads speak directly to the right people and their mind. Advertising research helps brands understand what customers like, what they dislike and what message motivates them.
It improves the quality of ads by testing ads in advance, companies’ gets to see what works and what does not. This reduces the chances of running an advertisement that is boring and not impacting.
It also saves money in various ways, instead of spending a large amount on advertisements that might not run, Research can help in investing that money wisely.
It also helps in measuring the performance of the ad such as advertising research shows whether an ad is increasing sales, creating brand awareness or generating the customer interest. This helps companies decide whether to continue, change, or stop the ad campaign.
It also helps in contributing to reducing risk, like research, helps avoid bad and negative reactions. For example, an ad that might offend a group of people or their belief, that can be changed before it goes actually in the market and reach to the mass audience.
So Advertising Research has a significant impact on brands, if asked how, then it’s pretty clear because it creates stronger brand image, it helps in better targeting of the right audience. It helps in getting higher reach, more customers more engagement gives the competitive advantage and gives the best brand positioning. Last but not the least advertising research plays a major role in helping brands create effective and meaningful advertisements, which will create a lasting impression in the minds of the customers.
