1. Purpose
The MDP and Consultancy policy describes how the Institute conducts Management Development Programmes (MDPs) and consultancy projects.
2. Objectives
- To provide a structured context for faculty to conduct MDPs and consultancy assignments through the Institute.
- To set out a transparent, predictable revenue-sharing arrangement between the Institute and the faculty who bring in and execute the work.
3. Scope and Applicability
The MDP and Consultancy policy applies to all Management Development Programmes and consultancy assignments undertaken by iFEEL faculty in the Institute’s name.
4. Definitions
Management Development Programme (MDP) means a short-duration executive training programme, delivered by iFEEL faculty to working professionals from a client organisation.
5. Policy Statements
- Faculty members can identify an opportunity for an MDP or consultancy assignment and submit a brief proposal to the Director, covering the client, scope of work, proposed fee, etc.
- No MDP or consultancy assignment is undertaken in the Institute’s name without the Director’s approval.
- The Director and the lead faculty member ensure that MDP and consultancy commitments do not clash with regular teaching, examination, or administrative duties.
- Revenue earned from an MDP or consultancy assignment is shared between the Institute and the faculty, with 5% of the amount offered to faculty.
- The faculty share of consultancy or MDP revenue is disbursed within 30 days of the Institute receiving payment from the client, through payroll or as a professional disbursement, as applicable under the Financial Policy.
- Where appropriate, students are given the opportunity to observe or assist in consultancy assignments, on lines similar to a live project, on a case-to-case basis, in line with the Institute’s earn-and-learn approach.
- MDP and consultancy engagements are conducted with the same standards of intellectual honesty and confidentiality expected in academic work.
- The lead faculty member prepares a brief synopsis of the MDP or consultancy assignment for use as a learning resource.
- Proposal approvals, fee agreements, and revenue-sharing records for every MDP and consultancy assignment are maintained for financial audit.
6. Review and Revision
The MDP & Consultancy policy is reviewed periodically by the Academic Council and by the Governing Body.
